The SGO News product is made our or 3 complimentary modules designed to manage the specific tasks necessary for journalists in a news department to produce and manage their inserts for their TV programming. These modules are:
SGO News – Capture: This module allows journalists to capture material from VTR tapes and cameras using one of the client machines or from a central media server which stores all of the footage to be served to the network.
SGO News – Editor: This is an intuitive editing software module that allows journalists to edit their own news inserts and also allows journalist to record their voice over and composite some titles & template graphics. The finished news insert can be placed back onto the server for later use.
SGO News – Playout: This playout module is designed to generate playout lists of news clips on the server so that they can be played out and broadcasted instantly when necessary.
The SGO News system does not require any dedicated hardware, all you need are personal computers or laptops with a standard FIREWIRE interface or a media server machine with a video board in order to capture the video material and that can also be used to playout and broadcast the finished edited news clips.
Capture
Video source monitor, video source switching, source timecode monitor, VTR information panel, VTR control panel, and recording information panel.
Editing
Intuitive interface with simple drag and drop editing functionality, 4 video tracks, simple graphics compositing, titling, audio, and voice over capabilities. Templates can also be created so that journalists can follow the look and feel created by the news program’s creative team.
Broadcast
The finished clips are stored on the servers and are instantly accessible for playout and ready to be broadcasted live. There is a preview list, playout monitor, timecode monitor, program list and full remote connection with the SGO Natural Studio solution.
Integration
The SGO News system can be integrated into existing low or high speed ethernet based local area network (LAN) infrastructure.
The system can be configured to work with as many editing, capture and playout workstations, laptops, and servers as required.
Centralizad and shared storage
The SGO News offers a collaborative workflow where are journalists and editors can have access to all of the company’s media from anywhere on the network and from any computer.

SGO News supported formats include; DV, MiniDV, DV CAM, DVC PRO, etc…
Titling
The title tool allows journalists to composite text on top of their news clips and it also provides template resources so that their news insert have the look and feel defined by the news department creative team.
