SGO Open Storage has been developed and integrated by engineers with more than ten years of experience in Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies.

Our software developers have optimized their software solutions, such as SGO Mistika, to use SAN technologies to their advantage, integrating data pre-allocation to minimize fragmentation and quality of service (QoS) to guarantee bandwidth on critical media play out or capture tasks. As a resut, we  can offer true integral solutions, covering both engineering services and custom developing.

Multiplatform

SGO Open Storage is based on Storenext Filesystem, and it will work on all commercial platforms to create a completely heterogeneous environment where different people can share data and ideas. It is fully compatible with Linux, Windows, and Apple XSAN.

High Bandwidth, High Availability

All machines are connected directly to the SGO Open Storage via high speed 8 Gbit fibre channel infrastructures so data can be accessed instantly without having to wait for any time consuming network transfers.

The centralized storage architecture minimizes duplicate data, and it provides Raid5 & Raid6 protection and other failover mechanisms that provide the necessary peace of mind. From cost effective SAN solutions up to "No Single Point of Failure" configurations.

SGO Open Storage provides scalable data bandwidth that can easily handle multiple simultaneous uncompressed streams of 4K & 2K film  DPX formats, as well as HD or SD uncompressed video. Our configurations can provide up to 2 gigabytes per second to each workstation.

With Instant Backup/Restore capability, by removing or inserting a set of  SATAII hard disks belonging to any filesystem volume. When insterting back a backup volume,  its contents are instantly available to all computers in the SAN.  The cost of these disks is cheaper than high performance backup tapes, while providing instant random access and much faster speeds than tape based solutions. 

The new "Snapshot" capability permit to go back in time, to be protected against user mistakes. With this option, if a user deletes the wrong files, you can go back in time to a previous day where they where still there, recover the files, and go back to the current filesystem status.

Our remote maintenance services provide a cost effective solution to provide instant access to high level engineers trough internet virtual connections, based on highly secure encrypted communications. All the SAN configurations that we have been installing over the world during the last ten years continue working today with full performance.
