LevelS3D believes in success by investing in SGO’s innovative Mistika technology
“We chose Mistika for its unparalleled ability to handle all kinds of video streams in real time…Mistika is also the most advanced solution for S3D, it gives us every tool we need and fits perfectly with our ambition of becoming Europe’s S3D market leader.”
Loïc Beauvillain, COO of LevelS3D, Saint-Ouen, France
With headquarters based in Commune Image, a hub of young creative audiovisual companies in St-Ouen, forward-thinking company LevelS3D recently launched its own top-of-the-range fully equipped 2D-4K-S3D post production studio. Mistika was put straight to work at LevelS3D on the post production of 11-minute animated short film Mr Hublot, produced by Zeilt Production and Arte, and directed by Laurent Witz and Alexander Espirages. Mistika’s advanced next generation colour grading capabilities and industry leading Stereo 3D toolsets were put to the test for the first time at the new company, resulting in a stunning outcome. The film recently received the well-respected Grand Prix S3D Seine-Saint-Denis award at the Dimension 3 Festival in Paris last month.
Mistika will be used for all of LevelS3D’s work which includes 2D and stereo 3D corporate films, documentaries and feature films. LevelS3D boasts two state of the art, leading-edge dedicated high-end suites, Le Ciné and Le Loft. Le Ciné consists of an impressive 168-seat cinema theatre suite equipped with a 5.1 surround sound system and a Sony 4K digital projector. The room’s versatility with its 3 by 6.5m-screen, can also easily be converted into a Stereo 3D grading and projection room with a Dolby system to accommodate various projects. The second suite Le Loft hosts the Mistika 2K, HD, S3D grading and projection room and is equipped with a Christie projection system.
LevelS3D’s new Mistika will not just be perceived as an advanced Stereo 3D tool, but also as a complete post production system, which is made up of highly developed 2D tools which include editing, conforming, image restoration, compositing, colour grading, multi mastering and DCP for both 3D and 2D. Mistika will form the central core of the workflow process during each post project, further demonstrating how having a Mistika, enhances a quality driven business and provides quality service, based on its unrivalled speed and superior functionality.Mistika remains the accepted leader in Stereo 3D post production tools leading innovation across all dimensions, with high-profile projects across film and television, making it the first choice for clients who demand the very best, placing the technology at the heart of their pipelines. SGO’s ongoing development ensures that Mistika is the most advanced and efficient system used in both native Stereo 3D productions and 2D to 3D conversion pipelines. Some of the many new projects using Mistika include Asterix & Obelix: On Her Majesty’s Service, Star Trek Into Darkness, The Great Gatsby and Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet with many more currently in production.
Loïc Beauvillain, LevelS3D’s COO states “We chose Mistika for its unparalleled ability to handle all kinds of video streams in real time. It’s an incredibly fast workstation with which we can produce great quality work while reducing production costs from conforming to the DCP. Mistika is also the most advanced solution for S3D, it gives us every tool we need and fits perfectly with our ambition of becoming Europe’s S3D market leader.”
Regional Sales Manager at SGO, Jose Luis Acha concludes “Mistika’s openness, flexibility and ability to integrate seamlessly with other systems, were some of the key factors that made Mistika an attractive option for DI and stereoscopic 3D productivity at LevelS3D. Mistika will enable them to meet the growing and complex demands that both 2D and Stereo 3D productions involve and bring them long term success. Mistika has the capacity to compatibly work alongside with their other systems, serving a distinct advantage from other closed systems. We are delighted to have LevelS3D join the SGO family of Mistika users around the world.”
LevelS3D’s main ambition today is to offer Mistika’s award-winning expertise to the industry in an exceptional environment, and to make Mistika’s S3D and 4K post-production technology available to a great number of directors, cinematographers and producers in the region.
