    Does there’s new features for 2D to 3D conversion, “live” depth map creation, plug-ins … new workflow … ?

    Hi Alain!


    I think the idea has always been to create the DepthMap out of Mistika and then manipulate the volume within Mistika using the Depth Grade node.

    As of v8.5 that was my understanding as well. The workflow(s) being something generating 1 or more P-Map (Depth Map), as well as rotoscoped matte channels for each element if you’re a super-star facility like Legend3D who can afford such things (or has an automated way to do this).

    I’ve done a 2D->3D conversion in 100% in Mistika but they were all locked of shots and the subject didn’t move much. Other than hair edge detail it was fairly easy, but any camera movement, etc, would have made it a painfully laborious process. In that example though I used Comp3D to make a Bump Map and the gave the Comp3D Camera a disparity.
