Traditional storage manufacturers belong to the IT world, with little knowledge about Post Production. Basically they make storage hardware for data centers, and then their marketing forces adapt their products for other markets…
As a result, they trend to solve client requests by “brute force”, which leads to high initial investments and rapid obsolescence. And once in real production, the performance rarely matches the raw specifications, which leads to unplanned proposals like “add more storage” or “buy the new model”, rather than optimizing the otherwise valid hardware that may be there.
As a difference, Mistika Storage is designed specifically for the client purpose by experts in post production workflows, and always using open standards and no proprietary hardware. Each client receives its own storage design, fully customized for his own needs. From internal arrays for on set production that are silent as a ninja up to full rack appliances for unlimited scalability. Once the footage is ingested it can rest in our robust appliances as to become the envy of the rack room.
The whole client workflow is pre-tested before delivery, making our appliances to perform nice and smooth from minute 1. A truly fire-and-forget solution.

Protected in raid6 and with unique Self Healing capabilities for all the storage hardware: In case of hardware failure, it will come back online as soon as enough disks are made available to any instance of the server software in any imaginable way, even if it is fixed using totally different hardware and without any further action. And redundant servers are also available as an option.
