SGO wins 2016 Hollywood Professional Association (HPA) Engineering Excellence Award


Madrid, Spain, 7 September 2016 – SGO, the high end post production software and systems developer, is proud to announce it has been awarded the coveted 2016 HPA Engineering Excellence Award for its Mistika post production digital intermediate (DI) solution. The Engineering Excellence Awards recognises companies and individuals that provide outstanding services to the professional media content industry. The award will be presented to SGO on November 17th, 2016 at the 11th annual HPA Awards gala at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Following a day long judging event, industry experts reviewed SGO’s presentation of Mistika. Built on years of research, development and production experience, the system has been used by production companies such as J.J. Abrams owned Bad Robot to produce ground breaking features that include Star Wars, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, 10 Cloverfield Lane and current feature film Star Trek Beyond. Mistika was also used to by Park Road to complete Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy.

Mistika is the world’s most advanced “Hero Suite”, providing editing, VFX, colour grading, text, paint, audio, S3D, complete finishing in a fully scalable, truly interactive, real-time, and totally resolution-independent post production system

SGO will be showcasing the award winning Mistika 8.7 and demonstrating a number of new post-production tools to service the most demanding high end finishing for Virtual Reality (VR), High Dynamic Range (HDR) grading, and 8K post-production at IBC 2016 on Booth 6.A11 at the RAI in Amsterdam from the 9th-13th of September.
