Dolby Vision to SDR ProRes
A Dolby Vision master carries the color intent for every target display, but only if that metadata actually gets applied. This template automates it end to end: it reads your HDR master and its Dolby Vision XML sidecar, applies the trim pass for a 100-nit BT.709/BT.1886 SDR target automatically, and renders a ProRes deliverable that matches exactly what the colorist intended for SDR.

Inputs
HDR master file with its corresponding Dolby Vision metadata XML in the same folder, named as baseName.ext.xml (e.g. MasterClip.exr.xml)

Put it to work: how to use this template
-Make sure your HDR master and its Dolby Vision XML sidecar are in the same folder, following the required naming convention. Configure the Folder node with that directory.
- In the Dolby Vision node, select 100 nit BT.709/BT.1886 as the output target. This step requires an active Dolby Vision license.
- The Tag Color Space node is preconfigured to match the SDR output, verify it matches your Dolby Vision target if you change it.
- Configure the ProRes node with your desired profile and output destination.
- Run the workflow. Each HDR master is trimmed to SDR using its own Dolby Vision metadata and delivered as a ready-to-use ProRes file.
