SGO’s Mamba FX Integration with Boris Graffiti brings Endless Opportunities for Artists


In partnership with Boris FX, SGO confirms integration of the popular titling and motion graphics plug-in, Boris Graffiti, with Mamba FX V2.5 for Windows. Mac and Linux are to follow suit.

Boris FX is a prominent developer of visual effects, titling, video editing, and workflow tools for broadcast, post-production, and film professionals. Boris FX products have grown to serve over a million artists worldwide.

Mamba FX is a high performance, node-based compositing platform which comes with a large range of filters and effects. These can be combined to create an infinite variety of looks and styles. Adding these effects to the very flexible Boris Graffiti, gives creative artists the possibilities to produce limitless styles of text and graphics.

SGO also announced at IBC that Mamba FX customers will receive a free upgrade to the new version 2.5 of Mamba FX which will also include Graffiti at no cost (offer currently available for Windows only, from October 2015).

SGO to Showcase Mistika’s Real-time Capabilities with Mamba FX at BIRTV

20 August 2014, Beijing, China – Mistika and Mamba FX will be showcased at the SGO Booth 8B09 at BIRTV held at the CIEC in Beijing from 27 – 30 August. BIRTV provides an inspiring platform for creatives featuring leading-edge technology in a rapidly growing marketplace, attended by over 55 000 people across the world.

Powerfully different, Mistika is recognised as the most potent finishing and grading system for projects at any resolution and frame rate, including 4K at 60P and stereoscopic 3D. Mistika’s diverse and versatile creative toolset is not restricted to 4K and is already able to provide for 8K post production pipelines. SGO will preview the new Mistika version 8.2 software at BIRTV which includes many new and unique features such as their in-context node based compositing capability and the incredible Spatial Isolation Toolset, which was unveiled for the first time at NAB in April this year.

Customers visiting the SGO booth 8B09 will witness Mistika’s stunning performance with mixed resolution raw camera files on the same timeline in real-time. Also on show will be Mistika’s next-generation colour finishing functionalities supporting the Precision Grading Panels. Other new features include support for Dolby Vision, improved ACES workflows, enhanced AAF support, Dolby Atmos DCP generation and support for an even wider range of image codecs such as Canon’s RMF, Sony’s XAVC and ProRes 4:4:4:4. To meet high customer demand for the new toolset, Mistika 8.2 will also be launched this August, prior to IBC, with a preview of the next version 8.4 being demonstrated at IBC.

Redefining VFX, Mamba FX provides unlimited compositing layers in a resolution-free, node-based environment, running on Windows, Linux and now also on Mac. Main headlines for Mamba FX 2.0 include the Layer Route Effect for working with multi-layer EXR files; a “Spatial Isolation Keyer” interfacing with metadata and the high-speed, “point cloud” shape tracker, enabling compositors to speedily track 2D roto-shapes to shots.
